Marionberry Lil Smokies

This appetizer is a gourmet upgrade to the classic cocktail wiener dish. The Lil Smokies are simmered in a rich, homemade sauce featuring the deep, slightly tart sweetness of marionberry preserves, contrasted with the tang of barbecue sauce, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar, and a subtle kick of crushed red pepper. The dish is finished in a smoker, which infuses the entire appetizer with a sticky, caramelized coating and a deep, savory cherry wood smoke flavor. It perfectly balances sweet, savory, and smoky notes.
