This homemade Basil Pecan Pesto is a vibrant green sauce made with fresh basil, toasted pecans, garlic, EVOO, and parmesan cheese. It has a nutty, savory flavor that is perfect for pasta, grilled chicken, or vegetables. The pesto is also a great way to use up leftover basil

Ingredients

3 cups fresh basil leaves (3 oz by weight)
1 ½ cups pecans toasted (6.5 oz by weight)
4 cloves 4-6 garlic
1/2 cup Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
1 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 tsp kosher salt
1 pinch ground black pepper to taste

Note

You can freeze this pesto in ice cube trays to pull out as needed
